Covid-19 pandemic and the meaning of life: an educational intervention

Resumo: His study aimed to understand the perspectives of the meaning of life linked to the educational context during the COVID-19 pandemic. Fifteen professionals of a state public school in the city of João Pessoa-Paraíba participated in the intervention, being 3 second grade teachers, 9 High School teachers, 2 principals and 1 professional from the Administrative Sector of the School. The ages ranged from 27 to 63 years (M=41.2, SD=10.97), mostly Catholic and female. Its theoretical perspective was Logotherapy and Existential Analysis, therapy through meaning. The perspectives of the meaning of life were understood from three main elements: 1) Attitudes of school professionals towards the pandemic moment; 2) Considerations about self-perception and self-perception of life; and 3) Considerations about the meaning of life. Thus, it was possible to highlight the human characteristic of self-transcendence of existence that was more accentuated during the pandemic time.

En la intervención participaron quince profesionales de una escuela pública estatal de la ciudad de João Pessoa-Paraíba, siendo 3 profesores de la Escuela Primaria II, 9 de la Bachillerato, 2 gerentes y 1 profesional del Sector Administrativo de la Escuela. Las edades oscilaron entre 27 y 63 años (M = 41,2, SD = 10,97), en su mayoría católicas y mujeres. Su perspectiva teórica fue la Logoterapia y Análisis Existencial, terapia a través del significado. Las perspectivas de sentido de la vida se entendieron desde tres ejes principales: 1) Actitudes de los profesionales escolares hacia el momento pandémico; 2) Consideraciones sobre la autopercepción de la vida y de uno mismo; y 3) Consideraciones sobre el sentido de la vida. Refere-se a um relato de experiência por meio da ação de extensão universitária realizada junto aos profissionais de uma escola da rede pública estadual da cidade de João Pessoa-PB. Participaram da intervenção 15 profissionais de uma escola da rede pública estadual da cidade de João Pessoa-Paraíba, sendo 3 docentes do Ensino Fundamental II, 9 do Ensino Médio, 2 gestoras e 1 profissional do Setor Administrativo da Escola. As idades variaram de 27 a 63 anos (M= 41,2, DP=10,97), a maioria católica e do gênero feminino. Teve como perspectiva teórica a Logoterapia e Análise Existencial, a terapia através do sentido. Compreenderam-se as perspectivas de sentido na vida a partir de três eixos principais: 1) Atitudes dos profissionais da escola frente ao momento pandêmico; 2) Considerações sobre a autopercepção da vida e de si; e 3) Considerações sobre o sentido na vida.
