The discipline of “Art and aesthetics in International Relations”: Extraquotidian theoretical-practical movements

Resumo: | This article aims to describe the construction path of the discipline “Art and Aesthetics in International Relations”, its objectives and how the interaction occurred in the classroom. To this end, we begin with a theoretical discussion on the role of art and aesthetics in the teaching of International Relations and then we present the structuring and development of the minicourse “Art and International Relations”, which served as a stimulus for the emergence of the discipline. Finally, we will approach how the discipline took place, as well as the students’ perception of it, for this the “open” interview model was applied. This text is based on the action research methodology - particularly on participant observation -, in which the investigation is instrumentalized to understand, develop and improve the practice; in this case, the goal is to improve alternative pedagogical practices in the teaching of International Relations, strengthening the logic of peacebuilding through the arts. |

Para hacerlo, comenzamos con una discusión teórica sobre el papel del arte y estética en la enseñanza de las Relaciones Internacionales; en seguida presentamos la estructuración y el desarrollo del mini curso "Arte y Relaciones Internacionales", que sirvió de estímulo para el surgimiento de la disciplina. Por último, abordaremos como se llevó a cabo la disciplina, incluida la percepción que los estudiantes han tenido de ella, para lo cual se aplicó el modelo de entrevista "abierta". Además, el presente texto se basa en la metodología de investigación-acción, en particular en la observación participante, cuya investigación es instrumentalizada para comprender, desarrollar y mejorar la práctica; en este caso, el objetivo es mejorar las prácticas pedagógicas alternativas en la enseñanza de las Relaciones Internacionales, fortaleciendo la lógica de la construcción de la paz a través de las artesEste artigo visa descrever o trajeto de construção da disciplina “Arte e Estética nas Relações Internacionais”, seus objetivos e como ocorreu a interação em sala de aula. Para tanto, iniciamos com uma discussão teóricasobre o papel da arte e da estética no ensino das Relações Interacionais e, em seguida, apresentamos a estruturação e o desenvolvimento do minicurso “Arte e Relações Internacionais”, que serviu de estímulo para o surgimento da disciplina. Por fim, abordaremos como se deu a disciplina, bem como a percepção dos estudantes sobre ela, para isso foi aplicado o modelo “aberto” de entrevista.
