Resumo: This article has as objective to present a part of a research already concluded that has as general aim to investigate, in the light of a dialogical perspective of discourse, the process of verbal interaction between supervisor and advisee in the professional master’s contexto (PM) (PROFLetras), of a brasilian public university. In this text, the part of the literature review is presented, from the concepts of university, highlighting the one that underlies the creation of Brasilian postgraduate studies and reaching notes that deal with such an orientation process under the aegis of research already carried out in special in the field of academic postgraduation and in the education area. In other moment, we propose a concept to what can be understood as academic orientation – in a Bakhtinian vein. The preliminary results point to the need of understand the protagonism of these social subjects – supervisor and advisee – in the context of the PM, which is where the basic education teacher is developing his applied research.

En este texto, se presenta parte de la revisión de la literatura, a partir de los conceptos de universidad, destacando el que subyace a la creación de los estudios de posgrado brasileños y llegando a notas que tratan de tal proceso de orientación bajo la égida de investigaciones ya realizadas. en especial en el ámbito de los estudios académicos de posgrado y en el área de la educación. En otro momento, proponemos un concepto de lo que puede entenderse como orientación académica – a la manera bakhtiniana. Los resultados preliminares apuntan para la necesidad de comprender el papel de estos sujetos sociales - mentor y mentor - en el contexto de la MP, que es donde el profesor de educación básica está desarrollando su investigación aplicada.Este artigo tem como objetivo apresentar parte de uma pesquisa já concluída e que tem como objetivo geral investigar, à luz de uma perspectiva dialógica do discurso, o processo de interação verbal entre orientando e orientador no contexto de um mestrado profissional (MP) (PROFLetras), de uma universidade pública brasileira. Neste texto, é apresentada a parte da revisão da literatura, a partir dos conceitos de universidade, dando destaque àquele que fundamenta a criação da pós-graduação brasileira e chegando a notas que tratam de tal processo de orientação sob a égide de pesquisas já realizadas em especial no âmbito da pós-graduação acadêmica e na área de educação. Em outro momento, propomos um conceito para o que pode ser entendido como orientação acadêmica – numa vertente bakhtiniana.
