The unknowledge of hemophilia by physicians and teachers: the need for qualified educational training

Resumo:   The present study had as general objective to analyze how the relatives of hemophiliacs are informed about the diagnosis of hemophilia. The specific objectives presented the strategies elaborated by the mothers to overcome the difficulties and discuss the need for educational campaigns to inform about hemophilia. This is a qualitative research that used as methodology case studies with interviews with five family members of hemophiliacs. The data collected were assessed using the technique of content analysis proposed by Bardin (1994). The results have evidenced that mothers passed through several processes when they knew the diagnosis of hemophilia of their children such as: learning about the pathology, fears, uncertainties, guilty, acceptance, adaptation, overprotection, and overcoming.

Los objetivos específicos presentaron las estrategias elaboradas por las madres para superar las dificultades y discutir la necesidad de campañas educacionales para informar sobre la hemofilia. La investigación fue de naturaleza cualitativa, y la metodología de investigación utilizada fue el estudio de caso, con entrevistas a cinco familiares de hemofílicos. Los datos recogidos fueron tratados usando la técnica de análisis de contenido propuesto por Bardin (1994). Se demostró que las madres pasaron por diversos procesos cuando supieron del diagnóstico de hemofilia de sus hijos, tales como: aprendizajes sobre la patologia, miedos, incertidumbre, dudas, culpa, aceptación, adaptación, super protección y superación. O presente estudo teve como objetivo geral analisar a maneira como os familiares de hemofílicos são informados sobre o diagnóstico de hemofilia. Os objetivos específicos apresentaram as estratégias elaboradas pelos pais para superar as dificuldades e discutir a necessidade de campanhas educacionais para informar sobre a hemofilia. A pesquisa foi de natureza qualitativa e a metodologia de pesquisa utilizada foram estudos de casos. Os dados coletados foram tratados por meio da técnica de análise de conteúdo proposta por Bardin (1994).
