Vantagem comparativa revelada da indústria da carne de frango brasileira e dos principais players (2009-2016)

Resumo: This article aimed to analyze the competitiveness of chicken meat exports by the main players, including Brazil, and Poland. In this sense, we used the indexes of Revealed Comparative Advantage and the Revealed Symmetric Comparative Revealed to analyze the production chain of chicken meat exported by the main producers. The data of secondary nature were collected from Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), besides the Ministry of Industry, Development and Foreign Trade (MDIC), in the period from 2009 to 2016. The results indicated comparative advantage in Brazilian exports, in the whole period. In relation to the United States and China there was advantage in two years but at distinct moments, while that in the others, there was comparative disadvantage. Brazil has lost representativeness and has been decreasing its indexes as well as the other countries, except Thailand that has been improving its indexes even with the crisis and Poland, which increased its representativeness due to the incentive to the production and conquest of the product for the high quality used in the productive process.

Nesse sentido, utilizaram-se os Índices de Vantagem Comparativa Revelada e o de Vantagem Comparativa Revelada Simétrica para analisar a cadeia de produção da carne de frango exportada pelos principais produtores. Os dados de natureza secundária foram coletados na Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), além do Ministério da Indústria, Desenvolvimento e Comércio Exterior (MDIC), no período de 2009 a 2016. Os resultados indicaram vantagem comparativa nas exportações brasileiras, em todo o período. Em relação aos Estados Unidos e à China, houve vantagem em dois anos, mas em momentos distintos, enquanto que, nos demais, houve desvantagem comparativa.
