Poda de renovação para segundo ciclo produtivo e origem da muda de morangueiro

The objective of this experiment was to evaluate the yield and quality of strawberry fruit in the second production cycle, submitted to different pruning times of the cultivar San Andreas under substrate cultivation. The experiment was carried out in the city of Bom Princípio, Rio Grande do Sul. Seedlings from two origins were used: Spain and Chile, which were submitted to four different periods of pruning, performed on January 20, February 2. March 1, March 20 of 2018, constituting a factorial experiment, in randomized blocks with four replications.  The control treatment consisted of the absence of pruning, and the senescent leaves were removed on January 20. In the pruning of renovation were left three crowns per plant and maintained the two youngest leaves in each crown. Fruit harvesting happened from March 20 until October 22, 2018. On each harvest day, the fruits were harvested, weighed and separated into commercial and non-commercial fruits. Monthly, from July to October, five fruits were picked per plot, in which diameter and length, soluble solids content, titratable acidity, pulp firmness and soluble solids / titratable acidity ratio were evaluated. The different dates of green pruning and the different origins of the seedlings did not influence the number of fruits, fresh mass and average fruit mass in the total production period. The month of August showed better physicochemical qualities compared to the other months.
