Para tanto, tem-se como base a perspectiva pós-colonial, a metodologia de representação histórica a partir dos discursos empreendidos por Bush e sua equipe.ABSTRACTThis article investigates the following question: what are the implications for Iraq of the use of representations such as "Rogue State", "Outlaw State", "Sick Nation” by the Bush administration political discourses between 2000 and 2003? We argue these are not mere adjectives but representations that have enabled the use of military intervention to promote the deterioration of the already fragile bases of Iraqi territory. We claim that discourses naturalize certain interpretations (and not others) by highlighting the difference and “otherness”, which can be potentially used as a political weapon. We develop our argument based on a postcolonial perspective and we use the methodology of historical representation from the discourses undertaken by Bush and his staff.Palavras-chave: Representação; Iraque; EUA; Consequências; Pós-colonialismo.Keywords: Representation; Iraq; United States; Implications, Post-Colonialism.
