Resumo: DOI: 10.1590/2179-8966/2017/26642ResumoEste artigo objetiva analisar a experiência de Canudos a partir do referencial do Direito do Comum. Procede a uma abordagem genealógica, desencavando o que foi soterrado por suas representações tradicionais como mero “fanatismo religioso” ou “rebeldia primitiva”. Como resultado, foi possível identificar elementos de sua gestão comunitária, capaz de constituir sentido próprio e um arranjo institucional alte­­­­rnativo­­­.Palavras-chave:Direito do Comum; Canudos; Cercamento. AbstractThis article aims to analyze the experience of Canudos from the theorical framework of the law of commom. It proceeds to a genealogical approach, unraveling what was buried by its traditional missrepresentations as mere "religious fanaticism" or "primitive rebellion." As a result, it was possible to identify the elements of its community management, capable of constitute its own meaning and an alternative institutional arrangement.Keywords:Law of the Common; Canudos; Enclosurement.
