ResumoEste artigo aborda os nexos estabelecidos no processo de produção social do espaço contemporâneo entre a luta por moradia e por direito à cidade de fração precarizada da classe trabalhadora e a constituição do protagonismo feminino nessa luta. Parte-se de um estudo de caso realizado a partir de abordagem etnográfica na ocupação São João-588, no centro de São Paulo, enquanto processo de autoconstrução – aqui expresso por derivação conceitual pelo termo de autorreabilitação – que conformam parte expressiva da provisão de habitação da e para a classe trabalhadora. A estrutura que sustenta este artigo é resultado da confrontação entre os dados de realidade que se depreendem do trabalho de campo com o referencial teórico inicial e o demandado pela própria interposição da realidade. Assim, o objetivo desta pesquisa é – a partir do percurso teórico, metodológico e de campo –, desvelar aspectos da produção do espaço urbano contemporâneo realizado na ocupação São João-588 enquanto lutas coletivas cotidianas pelo direito à cidade. Ao buscar apreender os nexos socioespaciais destes espaços, a máxima da dialética do espaço, de que os grupos sociais produzem o espaço e são por ele produzidos, se revela em sua especificidade.Palavras-chave: 1. deslocamento; 2. direito à cidade; 3. luta coletiva; 4. ocupação; 5. trajetória de vidaAbstractThis article sets out the connections established between the struggle of the most precarious fraction of the working class for housing and for the right to the city and the constitution of the feminine fight as a protagonist, inserted in the social process of production of contemporary urban space. The work is based on a case study carried out at the São João-588 squatter, in the downtown of the city of São Paulo, as an example of a process of self-construction - term used as a conceptual derivation of the term self-renovation - which consists an expressive part of the provision of housing to and from the working class. The structure that sustains this article is the result of the confrontation between the inferred data of real facts obtained from the fieldwork with the initial theoretical reference and the one demanded by the very interposition of reality. Thus, the objective of the present study - from the theoretical, methodological and empirical paths - is to unveil the aspects of the production of contemporary urban space observed in the squatter São João- 588 as everyday collective struggles for the right to the city. In seeking to apprehend the social-spatial nexus of such spaces, the maxim of the dialectics of space - that social groups produce the space and are produced by it - is revealed in its specificity.Keywords: 1.
