Resumo: This study investigates how BNCC – Early Childhood Education deals with the acquisition of the Alphabetical Writing System in this teaching stage. For this purpose, two theoretical trends are considered in the discussion of the subject, which grasp the process of writing appropriation from different perspectives – identified, in this work, as systematist and non-systematist. We intended to identify in which theoretical views or pedagogical trend BNCC stands upon, to verify the Learning and Development Objectives proposed in the BNCC’s “Listening, speaking, thinking and imagination” Field of Experience, which is the one that directly focuses on the theme of writing. Among the results, it is pointed out that BNCC comprehends that Early Childhood Education is responsible for introducing knowledge related to the writing system, although in a mitigated way, and, at the same time, contradictorily, for incorporating the perspectives of multiple languages and non-directive work.
