Resumo: | The energy consumption of commercial and residential buildings corresponds to 50.8% of the electric energy consumption in Brazil, and air conditioning systems can correspond to more than 50% in relation to the total consumed in these buildings. Considering the relevance of the theme for sustainability, this research aims to evaluate the energy performance of the air conditioning system of a bank branch located in the north zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro, using the Hourly Analysis Program (HAP), version 5.11. A simulation of the current air conditioning system was carried out according to data obtained through field survey. From this analysis, 6 additional scenarios were simulated considering the installation of air conditioning systems of direct and indirect expansion in this building. The parameters of thermal load, annual and monthly electric consumption and cost with electric energy for the different scenarios were analyzed, allowing evaluating the potential of reduction of energy consumption by the adoption of systems with higher coefficient of performance; air, water or refrigerant variable flow systems and energy recovery devices. The proposal with the greatest potential to reduce energy consumption was obtained using the Variable Refrigerant Flow system, presenting a 45.35% reduction in consumption associated with the HVAC system and a 24.39% reduction in the total energy consumption of the building when compared to the current system. |

Submitted by Boris Flegr (boris@uerj.br) on 2021-01-06T19:12:14Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Erika Castanho Magalhaes de Morais.pdf: 1097416 bytes, checksum: 88a25476e76039a62a9dc58aefa66137 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2021-01-06T19:12:14Z (GMT).
