After the deposition of the president João Goulart in April 1964 and the implantation of an exception regime, the Country suffered deep social, political and economic changes, as well as the strong institutions and delimited social groups, like the press and the student movement. At the first four years the regime was characterized for a period of consolidation of your actions and prospects and intern dispute, centralized on the top officers of the Brazilian Army, for the hegemony on the conduction of the Nation. Under this scenario, still with a mild censorship, spaces for manifestations of protest and divergent approaches in the political camp and on the media, was possible the reordering of movements and opponent groups, disarticulated after the Coup of April 1,1964. This dissertation analyses the student movement of Guanabara an your manifestations of protest against the military dictatorship between 1964 and 1968, contextualizing your reordering politic after the civil - military coup, identifying your organic intellectuals and comprehending your actions of resistance and to face the regime, under the prospects of the newspaper Correio da Manhã, principal opponent of the Dictatorship in the media and the perspective of the Federal Government and Military that wrote about the period.
