D. Maria Teresa e D. Isabel Maria de Bragança: resgate das trajetórias pessoais e políticas das filhas de D. João VI

The present work seeks to elaborate and analyze the biographies of characters forgotten by Brazilian historiography, even by historians of the eight hundreds: the daughters of the Prince Regent and King D. João VI. The research effort has generally turned only to D. Pedro I, opening some room for D. Miguel. However, D. Maria Teresa; D. Maria Isabel Francisca; D. Maria Francisca de Assis; D. Isabel Maria; D. Maria d Assunção e D. Ana Jesus has have remained forgotten. The archives of the National Library, the Imperial Museum of Petropolis and other Brazilian, Portuguese and Spanish authorities keep documents showing their importance in the political context scenario of a large extension of the nineteenth century. This project aims to survey and analysis of these documents - rarely or never worked - so that the political and cultural background of the 1800 can be studied through the paths of some of these princesses. It is proposed to develop their biographies in order to best meet their personal and public paths, and seek to understand its importance in the political context of the first decades of the nineteenth century, both in Brazil and in the Iberian Peninsula. Looking further to clarify how they were present and left their marks in the relations between these countries, especially between Portugal and Spain.
