Resumo: This dissertation is dedicated to examining the motif of the Florentine Nymph in the historiography of Aby Warburg (1866 – 1929). This is a case study, which aims to investigate the meaning, transformations, and effects of a powerful cultural symbol in the intellectual legacy of the Hamburg scholar. Through his writings, the selection of some images from his Atlas Mnemosyne (1924 – 1929) and the postulates of researchers who articulate the idea of the Nymph in contemporaneity, we contemplate the relevance of a fundamental figure for the discourses of modern iconology. An invaluable instrument for decomposing theories and methodologies in the history of art and culture, indicating disruption in time, in the conception of memory, in the language of passions and in the relations between subject and object. Catalyst of a model of thought that moves between mysteries and metamorphoses, the Nymph is a guiding thread between the great ideas of a man dedicated to the fruits of the dynamics of life

Trata-se de um estudo de caso, que tem como objetivo investigar o sentido, as transformações e os efeitos de um poderoso símbolo cultural no legado intelectual do estudioso hamburguês. Através de seus escritos, da seleção de algumas imagens de seu Atlas Mnemosyne (1924 – 1929) e dos postulados de pesquisadores que articulam a ideia da Ninfa na contemporaneidade, contemplamos a relevância de uma figura basilar para os discursos da iconologia moderna. Um inestimável instrumento de decomposição de teorias e metodologias da história da arte e da cultura, indicando reveses no tempo, na concepção de memória, na linguagem gestual das paixões e nas relações entre sujeito e objeto.
