Resumo: Gambling based on random lottery arose in Brazil to increase tax collection for the government. At the same time, it brought to population the desire for quick and easy financial gains. With this focus, some people search for ways to study the past results of a lottery to try to guess the possible future results. The mega-sena today is the random lottery game most used by bettors, therefor the idea of analyzing their results and the mistakes made by those bettors who seek to predict future results by analyzing the past. In this context, the Law of Large Numbers will help to show the randomness of the draw, and the law of small numbers will provide explanations for the mistakes made by players in attempting this prophetic analysis.

Ao mesmo tempo, trouxe para a população o desejo de ganhos financeiros rápidos e fáceis. Com este foco, algumas pessoas procuram meios de estudar os resultados anteriores de um sorteio para tentar adivinhar os possíveis resultados futuros. A mega-sena, hoje, é o jogo de sorteio aleatório mais utilizado pelos apostadores, daí a ideia de analisar seus resultados e os erros cometidos por aqueles apostadores que buscam prever os resultados futuros pela análise do passado.
