O lulismo sob a dependência: neodesenvolvimentismo, aliança de classes e inclusão social

Brazil experienced over the last decade the conformation and consolidation of a development model that many authors have analyzed with the concept of lulism . This concept aims to draw together the various dimensions of the political and social arrangement established from the Lula governments and succeeded in ensuring an unprecedented continuity in brazilian democratic periods. On one hand, the lulism reconstitutes a number of elements of the developmentalist project, but otherwise operates major disruptions in respect of that period. These two dimensions, in light of historical factors that influence the present, enables a better understanding of the characteristics, possibilities and limits of the arrangement forged by the lulism. This was precisely, during a period of the history of Latin American social theory, the aim of a relatively large group of authors who sought to situate the possibilities of developing countries in the region in the broader context of the global capitalist system. The perspective of dependency , within the range of authors that proposed to conceptualize it, tried to extract general conditions and possibilities for development from a particular situation in the international capitalist system. The objective of this work is therefore to promote the encounter between these two concepts in an analysis of lulism through the rescue of some formulations from the theories of dependency , in order to better understand the Lula governments in its dimensions of (1) neodevelopmentalism, (2) class alliances and (3) social inclusion, as well as pointing to its limits in the light of the criticisms developed by dependentistas aimed at the original developmentalism.
