Resumo: The general objective of this thesis was to evaluate the relationship between obtaining resources through Income Transfer Programs and Microcredit and Inner Partner Violence (IPV). The first step of the thesis was to carry out a systematic review to investigate the influence of income from Microcredit Program (MP) and Cash Transfer Programs (CTP) on the risk of physical, psychological and sexual IPV against women (Article 1). For this purpose, we searched 9 databases. The selection of articles was carried out by two researchers who worked independently. Results are presented in the article entitled "Women economic empowerment via cash transfer and microcredit programs is sufficient to decrease intimate partner violence? Evidence from a comprehensive systematic review ". We selected 32 articles. As the main result, it was observed that the effect of income obtained through economic empowerment programs in physical and physical and/or sexual (valid for Bangladesh) and psychological IPP (income transfer programs only) is heterogeneous and may reduce, or even increase the risk of violence depending on the social context. There is little evidence of psychological violence and MP. MP and CTP appear to have no impact on sexual IPV. The second article of the thesis had as objective to evaluate if being a beneficiary of the Bolsa Família Program (PBF) could be considered a protection factor against physical and psychological IPV against women, considering the possibility of family per capita income to act as a modifier of the effect on the relationship between PBF and IPV (Article 2). The information that underlies the research originated from a household survey conducted in the municipality of Duque de Caxias, in 2010. The study population was selected by cluster sampling in three stages (census tract, domicile, individual) with sampling techniques for the selection of households. The study sample included 807 women who in the interview period reported having had some love relationship in the previous 12 months and did not participate in any other income transfer program except Bolsa Família. The information was obtained through an interview using a structured questionnaire containing previously validated instruments, such as the Revised Conflict Tactics Scales (CTS2) for the measurement of violence. We used the analysis of paths by multi groups in the data analysis which allowed to explore the relations between the violence and the PBF in two different income groups. The results are presented in the article "The Impact of PBF Benefit on Intimate Partner Violence: An Analysis of Multi-Group Pathways". The results indicate that the income of the PBF directly increases the occurrence of psychological violence and indirectly the physical violence only among families with per capita income higher than 140 reais. In the poorest stratum of the study population, there was no effect of the program on violence. Considering the results of the two articles it is hasty to indicate co-interventions focused on the promotion of gender equality in parallel with the economic actions of the CTP and MP. However, if the results of the second article are replicated in other social contexts, it is worth proposing actions of this nature in parallel to the actions of female economic empowerment.

However, if the results of the second article are replicated in other social contexts, it is worth proposing actions of this nature in parallel to the actions of female economic empowerment.O objetivo geral desta tese foi avaliar as relações entre a obtenção de recursos através de programas de transferência de renda e microcrédito e a violência entre parceiros íntimos (VPI). Os resultados são apresentados no artigo intitulado Women economic empowerment via cash transfer and microcredit programs is sufficient to decrease intimate partner violence? Evidence from a comprehensive systematic review . Submitted by Boris Flegr (boris@uerj.br) on 2020-08-02T16:56:05Z No. of bitstreams: 2 TESE Tatiana Henriques Leite parcial.pdf: 2655081 bytes, checksum: 89bcb94e841a52f4daa45a3cc54f772f (MD5) TESE Tatiana Henriques Leite completa bloqueada.pdf: 3675546 bytes, checksum: 9482295627764bf39457e9ecbd29fe58 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2020-08-02T16:56:05Z (GMT).
