Um lugar para ser gorda: afetos e erotismo na sociabilidade entre gordinhas e seus admiradores.

This dissertation approach the sociability between chubby women and their admirers . The ethnography of one of these groups in the online social network Facebook, followed the interactions based on the circulation of images (digital self-portraits digitalized) and in the establishment of a system of compliments, besides the flows to other scopes on and off-line, that outline an Affective-sexual market, in which the eroticized female fat body is the object of desire and of greater value in the interactions. In this context, the activation of the erotic device has enabled individual and collective experiences, discoveries and learning, which produces several senses for the fat corporality, as well as for the male and female performances in this relationship between genres. In addition, class, race / color markers are crucial to produce these senses, and for the way these experiences have founded a particular and contemporary grammar to read the female fat body. The products of this sociability point to critical perspectives for women's size and body weight policies, circumscribed in the regulations and interpretations of the biomedical field, limited in the dichotomy between what is expected for health and what is meant as disease. Finally, it puts tension to the contemporary female body pattern, although, ambiguous and ambivalent in some aspects, it opens ways to rethink thinness as the only option for health beauty, besides providing empirical elements for the construction and a thought about body diversity.
