(Sub)notificações de violências interpessoais contra travestis e mulheres transexuais: linkage entre um inquérito populacional e o Sistema de Informação

The theme of violence is widely debated by professionals around the world, however, when focused on transgender women, there is a lack of studies that cover the subject. It is noticed that these types of violence are underreported by the Health System. Therefore, the main objective of the study was to analyze the differences between the profile of intimate violence reported in the SINAN database compared to that observed in the group of Transvestites and Transgender Women interviews by the EVAS project in the city of Rio de Janeiro. This is a cross-sectional study with a sample of 139 people from the EVAS project and the data contained in SINAN. Through the EVAS, it was possible to assess that interpersonal violence had a prevalence of 82.35% (95%CI: 74.91-87.94). After linkage with SINAN, the observed prevalence was 2.94% (95%CI: 1.09-7.66). It was possible to verify 19.12% agreement and an expected agreement of 19.55%, the Kappa Index resulted in -0.0054 (p-value 0.652). An accuracy of 3.51% (n=4/114) and, consequently, a divergence of 96.49% (n=110/114) was observed between the violent events observed between the two databases. No statistically significant results were identified in the bivariate analysis, suggesting that sociodemographic characteristics don’t seem to affect notifications. The fact of being a transvestite or transgender seems to be a barrier to the notification process by the health systems, an aspect that needs to be addressed. It is important to sensitize health professionals to issues related to gender and sexuality, in order to capture the violence experienced by these women.
