This study aims to analyze the socio-spatial transformations occurring in Angra dos Reis and Parati in the period comprising the years 1960/70 to 2010. For this, the concept of geographical space was discussed considering the works of authors Milton Santos, Doreen Massey and Roberto Lobato Corrêa, seeking to identify the conceptions of these on the concept in question and how transformations occur in space, changing its form and content in a unique and diverse. The possibility of "happen diferent", of non-linearity of spaces in time and that multiplicity paves the way for many different arrangements, allow to conclude that the spaces are different, though regarded the whole movement "globalizing" to which they belong. To analyze the changes, satellite images were used (Landsat 2 and 5) of the years 1977, 1990 and 2010 to generate maps of where it was possible to check the expansion of urban areas. Together, worked with economic and population data of census produced by IBGE, data of EMATER and others used in the preparation of charts and tables about the socioeconomic structure of the municipalities. Old photographs provided by the IPHAN, IBGE and other sources were used to illustrate the transformations presented. Worked up with the "spatial interactions" and "flows", pointed out by Roberto Lobato Corrêa and Milton Santos, respectively, to understand how the spatial organization of each municipality will be modified to the extent that interactions also change. Through a historical, a little backwards in time to the nineteenth century, sought to understand how gold, coffee, port and railroad explain, in part, that differentiated dynamic transformation. And over the decades of the twentieth century, the main elements were identified that gave rise to changes in the chosen period analyzed, being nuclear plants, the shipyard, the BR-101, tourism and the oil terminal of Petrobrás. Speaking of urban sprawl, the countryside and its hybridization was discussed considering the new configurations that countryside assumes with the incorporation of values, forms, behaviors and urban practices.
