Resumo: | Rio de Janeiro s city suffers from recurrent flooding, which causes economic and human losses. The increasing frequency of flood events proves that is needed a new design paradigm of drainage systems, which will restore the natural hydrological cycle of the urban watersheds, increasing their evapotranspiration and infiltration capacity. Recently, a substantial number of field and laboratory studies have evaluated compensatories drainage techniques that can reduce the negative impacts of urbanization on hydrology and water quality. One of the places where its implementation can represent a mitigation of the impacts of urban floods is the Jardim Vitoria Community, in the district of Santa Cruz, Rio de Janeiro / RJ. The objective of this dissertation is to analyze the impacts that the implementation of three different urban drainage compensatories techniques would have on the costs of the construction and on the flow transferred downstream in the Jardim Vitória Community. For this, the drainage systems were designed and estimated in four different scenarios, which were: only with traditional drainage network, with an increase of permeable pavement, infiltration trenches and detention basin. The peak flows in the scenarios using these techniques were respectively reduced by 69%, 14% and 98%, according to the project rainfall of 10 (ten) years. In addition, the specific flow rates were reduced from 201.67 L / s.ha to 61.70 L / s.ha with permeable pavements, 174.05 L / s.ha with use of infiltration trenches, and 0.00 L /s.ha with the detention basin. When budgeting the construction of drainage systems, an increase in the costs of 49% 16% and 109% in the respective scenarios was found. However, although the direct costs of the scenarios have increased, the techniques result in beneficial economic impacts related to the containment of the floods where they occur, avoiding their transfer downstream. Thus, in addition to reducing micro and macro drainage interventions that need improvement due to the increase of surface runoff s volume, economic losses caused by floods are also mitigated. |

Submitted by Boris Flegr (boris@uerj.br) on 2021-01-06T14:09:29Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Seiti Caio Contardo Pereira Ogawa.pdf: 10891117 bytes, checksum: 86c8590ce4489469e4d066d447372e91 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2021-01-06T14:09:29Z (GMT).
