Family violence (VF) is a major public health problem worldwide, with women and children as its main victims. A form of violence can be intimately connected to other acts of violence in the home, with a significant concurrence between domestic violence and violence against children. Health Services (SS) professionals have a privileged position in the detection of VF. The main objective of this dissertation is to offer a profile of the occurrence and co-occurrence of intrafamilial physical violence against the child and against the child, according to different clientele of assistance in SS. This study is nested within a case-control on VF and the occurrence of prematurity in newborns and has a cross-sectional design as it uses only the control group of the main study.
