The Nova Friburgo city is inscribed amongst the 821 registered cities In Brazil as susceptible to gravitational mass movements. In this case, to have a construction plant approved, according to 12.608/2012 law, the city will mandatorily ask the project to follow the requirements of Geotechnical map of Propensity to Urban Occupation. Moreover, the city to abide to this law, has received a 2015 version of this map from the State Dept, and this char tis only an intermediate product of a Federal Geological Dept a Susceptibility map and a Hazard/ Risk maps. Presently the most geological / geotechnical detailed studies are done gradually by City Technicians that work for Geomatic Management Dept, based on Federal Government Manual project mapping GIDES. This work’s objectives are to describe, analyze and compare geological-geotechnical mapping methods used in Susceptibility map 1: 25.000, Geotechnical map 1: 10.000 and Hazard/ Risk maps 1: 5.000 at local scale. It is understood that, starting from this verified information it is possible to help other registered Cities to analyze their data see if they are also susceptible and also help them to write down their own directives to map their own geological-geotechnical problems. In a certain strategical area downtown Nova Friburgo, this earth movements case study was verified with a 3D modelling and high-resolution images, which made possible geo-referential delimitation of some of the buildings destroyed in Jan/2011 when there was an occurrence of geoclimathical gravitational movement of mass planar land sliding. These researches have made possible a better Hazard/ Risk maps loss delimitation due to mass land sliding. The data so obtained show that integration with other information registered in the Susceptibility and Geotechnical maps data base help directly better drive the danger diagnostics, which are just a Hazard map more specific step. This methodologies integration can define a better consistent way to monitor priority areas, better inform and alert the population at risk as well as inform authorities of the imminent dangers so that they can start contention works, and risk mitigation
