This dissertation seeks to study the Transcarioca Trail, a project that encompasses 180 km in length within the territory of the city of Rio de Janeiro. The main agenda is the challenge established to make the public attending an active actor in the conservation and maintenance of the place, participating in the management structure through volunteering. Based on studies on the management councils and their relationship with the government and private entities responsible for the research site, where environmental and territorial impacts were also sought, in the public use of the chosen space. The following research concentrated the study on section 13 of the Transcarioca Trail, inserted in the Tijuca National Park (PNT) - Portão da Floresta x Cova da Onça. For the feasibility of the study, the use of qualitative research of the exploratory and descriptive type was chosen. To obtain the data presented, questionnaires were applied, from the management meetings of the adopters and fieldwork carried out in the period established between the year 2017 until the second half of 2019. Thus, the results served for the analysis of several aspects that involve the Transcarioca Trail, not only tourism as an economic aptitude, but also ecosystem management and conservation of the entire green corridor inserted in the Rio landscape, in addition to promoting lectures, seminars, research, implementing the ordering of volunteer programs and aspects of public safety in favor of the other stretches of trails that make up Transcarioca in the PNT
