This thesis analyzes the role of intellectuals from Piauí in sharing ideas during the Vargas era in the state of Piauí from 1930 to 1945. The path to reflect this reception of ideals was to understand the process of installing the Republic in Piauí, as well as the game of oligarchies and the discourse of some intellectuals on the context of republican thought in the First Republic. The electoral period of the Liberal Alliance campaign with the outbreak of the 1930 revolution that promoted the beginning of the Vargas period were addressed in order to better understand the incorporation of intellectuals into the context of the intervention system. The period of the Estado Novo and the performance of intellectuals and cultural mediators were reflected as a way to investigate the different fields of action of intellectuals in strengthening the regime in Piauí. The research showed, based on diverse sources, that the construction of Varguismo had to rely not only on the reception of the ideas of the government of Getúlio Vargas and its main ideologues, but also on its dissemination through the work of several intellectuals who received, propagated and legitimized these ideologies.
