This work is dedicated to investigating the process of development of the Communist Party of Brazil in line with the development of capitalism in Brazil in the first half of the 20th century. The objective of the work is to understand, then, the political-social context in which Marxism is welcomed by the Brazilian labor movement and its translation. Concomitantly to this, we will seek to analyze how the Brazilian state develops and its relationship with popular movements and demands. For this, we divided the dissertation into four chapters. The first is intended to understand the Marxist-Leninist conception in the International Communist Movement, the consolidation of the Communist International and the organizational perspective outlined by Lenin. The second seeks to understand, from the Marxism that arrived in Brazil – Marxism Leninism – how it is received by the PCB and how it influences the political formation of the party, concomitantly with the approximation of the PCB with national politics and the tenentist movement. The third seeks to understand how, during the Estado Novo, the PCB made a tactical change in its policy at the time of distension of the dictatorial regime. Finally, the fourth chapter deals with post-war Brazilian politics and the priority of control and repression of the working class in which the Republic of 1946 was born, with the repeal of the PCB in 1948.
