Resumo: | The motivation for carrying out this study touches on the relationships between the media and adventure sports. Our general objective is to investigate the relationship between the media and adventure sports in nature with today's society, in an effort to elucidate the meanings and media culture of a specific channel of these practices. For this, we developed four studies. The first presents an integrative literature review seeking the paths that adventure sports and television media have taken over the past 30 years. Through a search in the Medline (via Pubmed), LILACS (via BVS/regional), EMBASE, CINAHL, SPORTdiscus and SCIELO databases and in the gray literature, we reached 23 studies, generating seven categories: Glorification of risk, media segmentation, commodification, historical studies, social studies, term polysemy and educational studies. In the second study, we analyzed some of the meanings of the Adaptive Sport and Leisure project approach exhibited by Canal Off, which serves people with spinal cord injury, using kayaking as a strategy to assist in the recovery and inclusion process. Explaining the coexisting meanings in the speeches, including what is said, what is implicit and what is silenced. Unveiling benefits related to playfulness, autonomy and self-confidence, arising from the participants' narratives, who are confronted with the non-explicit side effect, in which the spectator can have an anesthetized sensitivity when he is excused from reflecting on other forms of protagonism, such as the political, for example. In the third study, we searched for the media discourses praised by Canal Off of adventure sports, investigating a one-week schedule of the Canal, 15 categories emerged: Preservation and contact with nature; History of adventure sports; Evolution of adventure sports; Female inclusion; Global social contexts; Maintenance of quality of life and health; Challenge, overcoming and reconnection; Emergence and revelation of athletes; Fun and training; Sponsorship; Photo and filming; Longing; Tracks and private spaces; Adrenaline, risks, adventure, madness; Sound and musicality. Through these categories it is demonstrated the technological evolution, greater specificity of themes in search of viewers. The fourth study discriminated adventure sports and media in the period of the covid-19 pandemic, gathering data from adventure sports practitioners. We obtained 318 responses to an online questionnaire revealing 14% of media influence in the choice to practice adventure sports. It was also demonstrated: greater female participation, hiking as the most common practice, increased education of adventure sports practitioners, development of ecological awareness with the practice, much lack of performing adventure activities/sports during the quarantine of covid-19, breaking the quarantine for the practice, replacement by other physical activity practices during the quarantine, great influence of the family on the choice for the practice, 88% said they felt like performing adventure activities/sports after watching a television program. Thus, our research seeks to collaborate in a critical and reflective way with physical education, including the arrival of this component in the physical education curriculum at school through the National Common Curriculum Base. |

Submitted by Eliana CEH/B (liliprata2000@gmail.com) on 2021-11-09T15:57:01Z No. of bitstreams: 2 Tese - Marcelo Faria Porretti - 2021 - Completa.pdf: 5223799 bytes, checksum: 5be533216d694ff09af00d600295e031 (MD5) Tese - Marcelo Faria Porretti - 2021 - Parcial.pdf: 2350755 bytes, checksum: b4d50dc932655081867a3964bab4105b (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2021-11-09T15:57:01Z (GMT). The motivation for carrying out this study touches on the relationships between the media and adventure sports. |
