Augmentation mammoplasty was the most accomplished in plastic surgery in 2016. Therefore, reoperation rates, however small, reached large absolute values. This cause is breast implant change due to insatisfaction with the volume in the postoperative period. Thus, evaluating it before the patient undergoes surgery can lower those rates. There are several volume measurement methodologies in the literature. These studies show great acceptability and excellent results, however, none compares prospectively. In general, the population studied is from the northern hemisphere. As the degree of satisfaction is closely correlated to the local culture, it is necessary to study with the Brazilian population. The present study analyzes the comparison between different methods of choice of breast implant volume and the degree of postoperative satisfaction. The patients were divided into three groups: Control, Silicone and MamaSize®. Four variables were evaluated in the preoperative period and five in the 1st, 6th and 12th postoperative months. The Analog-Visual scale was used. All data were analyzed by t-test, or Wilcoxon test, considering p <0.05. When comparing preoperative and postoperative satisfaction results, there was a difference in all variables of the 3 groups with statistical significance. However, when the postoperative data were compared with each other, there was no difference. Augmentation mammoplasty with implant increases postoperative patient satisfaction and, if one of these three methodologies is used, the result in satisfaction doesn t change among them.
