Resumo: | Fatigue is a neuromuscular phenomenon, induced by strenuous exercise in the ability to generate energy of a muscle group, which results in a decrease in physical performance. Therefore, this thesis aimed to analyze salivary cortisol and muscle fatigue induced by squat exercise from behind in physically active individuals. To this end, two studies have been developed. Study 1 is a systematic review that described the effects of squat exercise behind myoelectric activity of lower limbs in trained men. The results of the protocols showed to improve the neuromuscular system and provide greater strength acquisition in the muscles involved in performing the squat exercise back (p<0,05). However, more studies with higher methodological quality are needed in the analysis of squat exercise to reduce the risk of bias. Study 2 is a systematic review that analyzed the effects of intense resistance training on salivary cortisol, muscle strength, and hypertrophy in trained individuals. The results showed that the practice of high intense training (HIT) seems to be an effective intervention to stimulate the increase in the level of acute and chronic cortisol and, thus, induce possible changes in physiological and hormonal levels, offering short-term neuromuscular adaptation and increased strength and muscle hypertrophy in the long term. In addition, cortisol seems to be useful in monitoring physiology in large-scale observational physical activity surveys. However, more research is needed to elucidate the effects of HIT on cortisol and adaptive results |

No entanto, são necessárias mais pesquisas para elucidar o efeitos do HIT no cortisol e resultados adaptativosSubmitted by Eliana CEH/B (liliprata2000@gmail.com) on 2021-10-18T14:25:00Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Tese - Rogério Santos de Aguiar - 2021 - Completa.pdf: 5137267 bytes, checksum: 25c9355671cf04e08ca44f45609e25e4 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2021-10-18T14:25:01Z (GMT). Fatigue is a neuromuscular phenomenon, induced by strenuous exercise in the ability to generate energy of a muscle group, which results in a decrease in physical performance.
