Colapso de desempenho em equipes de futebol profissional: o contágio emocional como influência

The present study aimed to investigate the performance breakdown in professional soccer teams considering the influence of emotional contagion. As a methodology, an exploratory qualitative research was carried out with content analysis (discourse) involving 16 male professional football athletes from 4 major clubs in the first division of the Brazilian Championship in the age group between 18 and 26 years, with data collection from of a semi-structured interview (questions in the annex), considering an autobiographical narrative perspective. The sequence and conduct of the interviews were carried out by this researcher as well as by other psychologist colleagues duly registered in their class councils and who belong to the Institutions that agreed to apply the questionnaire with the triggering questions (in the annex). In the transcripts of the interviews, all linguistic agglutinators such as prepositions, adverbs and conjunctions were removed. After removing these elements, what remained will be analyzed using the Iramuteq software. IRaMuTeQ (acronym for Interface de R pour Analyses Multidimensionelles de Textes et de Questioonnaires) This is free software linked to the R statistical package for content analysis, lexicometrics and discourse analysis, developed by Laboratoire d'Études et de Recherches Appliquées in Science Sociales (LERASS) from the University of Toulouse. It will bring, in addition to the mining of data in texts, the groupings of words that appear together (cloud of words) and, from this grouping, categories will be created that will be taken into account when analyzing the content of the speeches, thus allowing to obtain of quantitative analyzes of linguistic bodies and their hierarchical classification. It was possible to verify as the main causes of the collapse of group sports teams due to negative emotional contagion: adverse situations in games, disbelief, external criticism, intra-team conflicts, lack of self-confidence and group resilience. In this way, it is possible to say that the causes of the performance collapse are multifaceted. At the end of this study, it was concluded that the performance collapse is a constant among elite athletes of Brazilian football, and the causes are multifaceted, with the pressure for results presenting itself as the main among them. Emotional intelligence needs to be worked on in these players so that it is possible to prevent these cases from happening and the results can be achieved, prioritizing the mental health of these professionals, teaching them emotional regulation strategies that can be used on the field.
