This research has the aim of presenting the relation between the religious formation given by the Catholic Pastoral of Youth (PJ) and the social and political life stories of some of its former members at Nova Iguaçu diocese and its commitment with formation of political party members to the Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT). In effect and in a less effective way, priests and laymen who carried its religious formation to the civil society. Going forth through case studying, we could see relations between the Theology of Liberation s formative plan, used by the Pastoral of Youth through the 1980 and 1990 s and the multiple results that those plans achieved on the political, vocational and professional life of those individuals. This occurrence happened especially when it produced a strong affinitive connection with left winged policies and an approach with the Partido dos Trabalhadores identified as an end of a militant religious path. As privileged characters of this study, we chose former participants of the Pastoral of Youth from that referred period of time, whose ones occupied similar occupations suggested by that Pastoral main formative plan from the 2000 to 2012: political party activity; priesthood and activities on lay society. Through the social actors life story, we intended to comprehend if and how the formative process defined their professional choices and, somehow, that formation can still keep decisive religious ethics role in the subjects lives. To fulfil this task, we decided to analyses: the historical context of Baixada Fluminense region since the time that place came to be; Theology of Liberation and its connections with the Brazilian, Church and Pastoral of youth History. Finally, the related connection between that theology s carvings with the building of members to the Partido dos Trabalhadores.
