Resumo: | This thesis addresses three issues related to filming inanimate objects. In the first chapter, we study the problem of motionlessness in cinema. From certain historical and theoretical perspectives, immobility may represent a contravention to the definition of cinema as an art of movement. In this sense, immobile objects express one of the terms of this transgression, so we discuss the passages between immobility and movement in cinema and, in particular, the filming of immobile objects. In the second chapter, we investigate the conditions of autonomy of inanimate objects, based on a bibliography that analyzes the intercessions between subjects and objects. The third chapter relates cinema and still life, discovering in films with objects the contours of a possible cinematographic strand. This work also involved the making of two short video films starring objects, “Goodbye to the Things” (2019) and “The Night of the Burger” (2020). The production of the videos triggered the themes addressed in the thesis, so that these two instances, text and films, eventually refer to each other. |

Submitted by Eliane CEH/B (liliprata2000@gmail.com) on 2022-09-29T17:47:39Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Tese - Ian de Vasconcellos Schuler - 2022 - Completa.pdf: 10423118 bytes, checksum: ad0c8ec306a71c50acb7f957c2ef67f9 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2022-09-29T17:47:39Z (GMT). This thesis addresses three issues related to filming inanimate objects. |
