This dissertation makes a stylistic reading of Ivan Junqueira's book Três meditações na corda lírica, with special focus on his first poem. This book, published in 1977, first appears as a work of restricted circulation, inserted later, in reunions and anthologies of Junqueira's poems. Studying the three meditative poems that belong to the work, based above all on the approach developed by Othon Moacyr Garcia, it was realized the existence of a semantic matrix of the enigma, of an enigmatic meaning to substantiate the poetic production of Ivan Junqueira. Garcia's approach, which seeks to identify semantic matrices, reveals the areas of meaning and the clearest areas of symbolization of a poet, where the recurrence of words and the repeated use of expressions increasingly show the meaning of a book or of a work. Starting from this assumption, and using other poetic books of the author, was found the confirmation of this enigmatic symbolization, which makes of the enigma a true semantic matrix of all the poetry of Junqueira.
