Resumo: | In the present study, an analysis of the movements inherent to a cut slope is conducted, located on a notable highway within the state of Rio de Janeiro. This slope, predominantly composed of a remaining matrix of sandy nature, exhibited manifestations of persistent displacements throughout the time interval between the year 2005 and the year 2021. In this context, the present study sought to establish an association between the movements, which were verified and documented through geotechnical instrumentation campaigns, and assessments related to horizontal deformations, facilitated through the use of the RS2 software. Stability analyses were also performed, using computational programs that adopt the finite element method (RS2) and the limit equilibrium method (Slide 2). The stability analyses, along with the study of horizontal deformations, were based on the oscillations identified in the piezometric levels, which became evident during periods of high rainfall. These levels were obtained through measurements taken by water level indicator sensors, conveniently placed in the study area. The results from inclinometer readings, when compared with the outcomes predicted in the finite element analyses, demonstrate agreement in the order of magnitude. Simultaneously, a meticulous comparison was carried out among different methods for evaluating geotechnical stability, which led to obtaining safety factors in various scenarios of the studied slope. Among these situations, the nearly full saturation condition of the mass stood out, resulting in safety factors lower than 1.00, indicating the imminent collapse of the analyzed geological mass. |

Esse declive, predominantemente composto por uma matriz remanescente de natureza arenosa, apresentou manifestações de deslocamentos persistentes ao longo do intervalo temporal compreendido entre os anos de 2005 e 2021. Nesse contexto, o presente estudo empreendeu uma busca pela associação entre as movimentações, que foram verificadas e documentadas por meio de campanhas geotécnicas de instrumentação, e as avaliações relativas a deformações horizontais, facilitadas por meio da utilização do software RS2. Análises de estabilidade foram também executadas, fazendo uso de programas computacionais que adotam o método dos elementos finitos (RS2) e o método de equilíbrio limite (Slide 2). As análises de estabilidade juntamente com o estudo de deformações horizontais, foram fundamentadas nas oscilações identificadas nos níveis piezométricos, as quais se evidenciaram durante os períodos de alta pluviosidade. Tais níveis foram obtidos mediante aferições realizadas por dispositivos sensores de Indicadores de Nível d’água, convenientemente dispostos na área em estudo. Os resultados das leituras de inclinômetros, quando comparados com os resultados previstos nas análises de elementos finitos, apresentam concordância na ordem de grandeza. Paralelamente, procedeu-se a uma meticulosa comparação entre distintos métodos de avaliação de estabilidade geotécnica, os quais propiciaram a obtenção de fatores de segurança em cenários diversos do talude estudado.
