Diagnóstico para o desenvolvimento da educação ambiental em Unidades de Conservação de Proteção Integral: o caso dos Parques Natural Municipal da Prainha e Natural Municipal de Grumari, RJ

Integral Protected Areas such as parks are constituted in are places where Environmental Education is conducive to the development of activities that seek to raise awareness to visitors and regulars about the need to carry out actions that preserve these areas. Ecotourism practices act as an important ally in this educational process, since, to realize them, it is important that these spaces remain preserved. The present research aimed to perform a social and environmental diagnosis of the Prainha Municipal Natural Parks (PNMP) and Grumari (PNMG) and the beaches of the same names that are found within these Areas and to perform a comparative of the results obtained in each one of them in order to subsidize information that contributes to educational actions based on the ecotourism practice to be developed by the managers of these Areas. Interviews with managers, active tourism agents and the application of questionnaires with visitors and residents of the Parks in order to know their profile were based on the results obtained by the diagnosis. Besides that, a mapping of irregular occupations was produced in the PNMG that contributed to the identification of the various negative impacts found in this environment. The results obtained by the present research evidenced differences (conflicts of interest) between the actions carried out by the managers of the Parks (public power) and the wishes of their visitors and regulars, mainly in relation to the use of those areas in each of the Units studied. The diagnosis obtained showed that there are no practices aimed at the development of ecotourism (or even sustainable tourism), so there are no programs focused on environmental education in both protected areas, although the PNMP has more conservationist characteristics as there are no conflicts in the use and occupancy within of its limits, as is the case with the PNMG. This last one is currently suffering from uncontrolled and illegal occupation above its limits, which compromises not only the biota, but also the management of its visitation, which is subject to planning and security not only of the continental area (occupied with several residences), but of its coastal area (beach)
