The present work presents the case study of a slope in colluvial soil located at km 78 of RJ 116, Rodovia Presidente Goulart in Nova Friburgo, which has a long history of movements. Initially deployed curtain panels were installed upstream of the track and a curtain of stakes with tie rods and stapling along the track. However, the movements did not cease, thus necessitating the analysis of a slope stabilization structure in colluvial soil at km 78 of RJ-116 in a more detailed investigation of the Geology of the Region. Mixed surveys were carried out to define the geological profile of the slope. In addition, the behavior of the slope was monitored with the aid of inclinometers and piezometers. In order to solve the problem of slope movement, reinforcement of the existing reinforced curtain and reinforced concrete slabs along the track were proposed, as well as superficial and deep drainage works, in order to keep the water level below a critical condition, and a constant monitoring from field instrumentations. The objective of this work is to verify the performance of the projected structures and to predict the functioning of these structures in the long term. To this end, the computational programs Slide (limit equilibrium method) and Plaxis (finite element method) will be used to analyze representative sections defined by topographic surveys. The water level will be established based on the readings of the piezometers recorded after the work, drilling and technical information. At the end of the dissertation, comparisons will be made between the results of displacements obtained in the analyzes and the values of displacements obtained by the field monitoring. A performance forecast of the structures will also be presented if there is a failure in the drainage devices and the water level reaches a critical level.
