Resumo: | The Evolution Theory, as proposed by Charles Darwin, has been in the scientific circles for more than 150 years, generating a lot of controversy in academic world, also showed broad impact on the knowledge of common sense. This theory notoriously changed the thinking of the reified universe and also the consensual, especially for contradicting the creationist humanity emergence theory. For the construction of this research object and interpretation of results, the theoretical approach was the Theory of Social Representations, with emphasis on the prospects of Moscovici and Jodelet regarding the general formulation of the theory, and contributions of Abric and Sá as regards the structural approach that complements it. To realize the approach Darwin's Theory of Evolution as an object of this investigation, we chose to draw a methodological approach to the preparation of three studies. The first analyzes the thematic content of the information circulated in 52 articles pertaining to the topic, focusing on the year of 2009. The second deals with the analysis of the conditions relating to dissemination of Darwinian theory, according to questionnaire on 64 teachers of basic education. The third round is to lift the thematic structure of social representations about the Theory of Evolution and about Darwin, according to 179 university students. For data processing, softwares were employed: QSR NVivo, for the first study, and the Ensemble de programmes permettant l analyse des evocations (EVOC), for the third study. It was concluded that, based on documentary analysis, the subject matter was widely publicized in the Brazilian media, becoming allowance for daily conversations of people; the brought ideas were quite full completes around the explored topic. But the study with the teachers revealed that: the Evolution Theory was seen as an interesting content for teaching with students because it causes doubts and discussions in the classroom; There was also agreement to practice that fosters contradictions, for thus enable students to be critical; lastly, the restriction on the theory of evolution was really evident in the speeches. Thus, overall, it can be said that, according to interviews of teachers, the Evolution Theory has been sufficiently developed in the Brazilian basic education and that understanding and acceptance by students are equally satisfactory. The study also indicated a strong link between the Evolution Theory of evolution and the image of Darwin. Therefore, even over 150 years, Darwin s Evolution Theory proved to be present in popular knowledge, breaking the barriers of scientific universe to circulate widely on common sense, being part of the daily linguistic repertoire of the students of higher education conversations |

Therefore, even over 150 years, Darwin s Evolution Theory proved to be present in popular knowledge, breaking the barriers of scientific universe to circulate widely on common sense, being part of the daily linguistic repertoire of the students of higher education conversationsA Teoria da Evolução, conforme proposta por Charles Darwin, há mais de 150 anos circula no meio científico, geradora de muitas polêmicas na academia, apresentou também ampla repercussão nos conhecimentos de senso comum. No. of bitstreams: 1 Tese_Fernanda Candido Magalhaes.pdf: 3574095 bytes, checksum: 7d7acf50c0341421ddcadaecdee49767 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2021-01-07T18:36:32Z (GMT).
