Criatividade e assimetria técnica funcional de jogadores de futebol profissional: um estudo comparativo e correlacional em função do estatuto posicional, continente de nascimento, competição continental e valor de mercado

The aims of this study were to compare positional statutes, continent of birth and continent’s tournament according to creativity and functional asymmetry of professional soccer players and verify the relation between creativity and functional asymmetry of the lower limbs with players’ market value. It was analyzed 12 finalists’ teams from the major club’s tournament of each continent, all games from 2018/2019 season. The final sample consisted of 31 games and 147 players analyzed with recorded official games and the raters measured all data using two instruments: a) System of Assessment of Functional Asymmetry of the Lower Limbs in Football for functional asymmetry of the lower limbs and b) Creative Behavior Assessment in Team Sports for creativity and a specialized website to collect market value data. The present study demonstrated that the three chosen variables affected creativity and functional asymmetry. The positional statutes showed midfielders, wings and forwards as the most creative players and it was no difference in asymmetry. Continent of birth results indicated Europe and South America as the most creative and Asia with the least functional asymmetry index. According to the continent’s tournament, Europe Champions League was the most creative and Asia Champions League the one that had the least functional asymmetry index. Finally, the results showed a positive and significance correlation between creativity and market value, however it did not happen with functional asymmetry. In summary, the present findings suggest that more offensive players seems to be the most creative ones, European, born and current players, seems to be the most creative and players born in Asia, also the ones that played there in the last season, appear to demonstrate the best functional asymmetry of the lower limbs index
