Resumo: Cryptocurrencies are increasingly being traded around the world and, therefore, it is essential that accounting and business administration professionals have solid knowledge on this subject. In this way, the main of this study is to evaluate the level of financial education, in decisions of investments in cryptocurrencies, of students of Accounting Sciences and Administration, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. In order to reach the proposed objective, the survey was used as a working method, prepared online, and sent to students of courses, both from public and private universities in Rio de Janeiro. This is an exploratory research in its scope with a qualitative approach. The sample comprised 126 students who participated by answering the questionnaire. From the results found, it was found that the level of knowledge of students in relation to cryptocurrencies is still very low, even with the evolution and acceptance of virtual currencies in the market. In addition, it was also observed that students feel that their knowledge about investments is still basic. It was verified that the disciplines offered in graduation are the main means of learning for students about financial education, therefore, it is recommended that universities invest in this type of initiative or else in the creation of courses on the subject. Finally, it is understood that, for a better financial management of organizations, it is essential that all agents involved in the business strategy, such as accountants and administrators, have knowledge on the subject for the survival, economic tranquility and financial security of companies.

Desta forma, o objetivo desse estudo é avaliar o nível de educação financeira, em decisões de investimentos em criptomoedas, dos estudantes de Ciências Contábeis e Administração, de universidades públicas e privadas do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. Para o alcance do objetivo proposto utilizou-se como método de trabalho o questionário, elaborado de maneira online, com uma amostra final de 126 respondentes. A partir dos resultados encontrados constatou-se que o nível de conhecimento dos alunos em relação às criptomoedas ainda é baixo, mesmo com a evolução e aceitação das moedas virtuais no mercado. Além disso, observou-se também que os discentes sentem que seus conhecimentos sobre investimentos ainda são básicos. Verificou-se que as disciplinas ofertadas na graduação são o principal meio de aprendizado dos alunos sobre educação financeira, portanto, recomenda-se que as universidades invistam nesse tipo de iniciativa, inclusive na criação de cursos sobre a temática.
