This master's thesis offers a way that takes us to the process of Elizabeth Bishop's poetic production. The starting point is her fundamental characteristic as an observer. Her poetic view allows her to look at the world as a reader and elaborate on what she saw as a writer. The idea of poetic mining approaches that of the selection of objects captured in her reading of the world through her experiences. Her poetic work takes place as a kind of meticulous cutting that transforms these objects from unpolished stones into precious ones. The route will have as its destination the arrival at home. In Elizabeth Bishop's houses that mark her trajectory as key points. In the house with the roof that reminds her of a lobster tail, in the one that has its shape modified by the droplets of water from the cloud that surrounds it or from the tears of a grandmother who cries at the kitchen, in the house with walls built by books; the one that is in the memory of the childhood home; in the house that will always be under construction so that the dream house of the poet never ceases to exist.
