Resumo: The practice of surface design in clothing companies focused on the fashion market requires design professionals to have knowledge beyond their field of origin so that their performance is more effective. The activity is carried out through design processes, requires technological knowledge, transits between the artistic and technical field of graphic representation and is valued for the awareness of marketing concepts in the elaboration of projects. The high supply of clothing products, especially in the Southeast, the largest clothing region in the country, points to the need for differentiation in order to obtain commercial advantages. In this research it is understood that the stamping design can be one of the strategic areas for the management of fashion brands. To contribute to the participation of stamping design in the qualification of clothing products and in the creation processes, a plan was created to create a collection of prints, a specific method for surface design. It started with the review of the literature on surface design and market issues to define terms and knowledge of the state of the art. In view of the lack of specific methods in the academic literature for the creation of collections of prints applied to clothing, the literature on general design methodologies, design methodologies and market studies was used. The participant observation technique was used in three experiments to record and analyze the workflow of teams during the task of creating stamps. The material obtained from these experiments was compared with the concepts extracted from the literature review. In addition to the experiments, an interview was conducted with a professional with extensive experience in the sector in order to complement the understanding of practical issues in the labor market. The main contribution of this dissertation is a plan applicable in departments of fashion companies for the creation of prints collections. The methodological results are also intended for reproduction in an academic environment in order to provide students with design resources so that, in the future, they may be better prepared to meet professional demands. The resultant product of this research is a set of maps, cards and tables that allow the process to be replicated in other cases, allowing an expansion of the model and knowledge around the theme.

The resultant product of this research is a set of maps, cards and tables that allow the process to be replicated in other cases, allowing an expansion of the model and knowledge around the theme. Submitted by Marianna CTC/G (marianna.uerj@gmail.com) on 2021-07-21T17:36:34Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Dissertação - Patrícia Siqueira Rodrigues - 2020 - Completa.pdf: 19252839 bytes, checksum: 6fced3b3e0451467e0d5d42c0f091ac5 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2021-07-21T17:36:34Z (GMT).
