This work presents to the reader the consolidation of the understanding of sexual crimes with the use of the internet, as analyzed legally by the Brazilian legislation. The contribution of technological advances is undeniable. However, the uncontrolled growth of Internet access has facilitated the practice of illegal activities, such as the dissemination of child pornography, fraud, sexual crimes, etc. It had also been discussed how Brazilian legislation manages this new type of crime. For this work, analyzes were performed as an objective both of law compared to international legislation on the Internet / cybercrime topic and at the same time the discussion of the incidence of this type of crime in the state of Rio de Janeiro (RJ). For this, we performed a quantitative statistical survey of sexual crimes on the Internet in the state of Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and tabulation of all records by analyzing the occurrence reports recorded at the computer crime repression unit (DRCI) in the years 2013 And 2014 in the state of RJ. It was added to this study the years 2015 and early 2016, since the data collection was not presented with high indexes, even with the increase of denunciations regarding sexual crimes by the use of the Internet in recent years. It is hoped that with the results of the survey, it will be used to support future work concerning the crucial question nowadays. Internet crimes, or cybercrimes, have become a constant practice in Brazil. Crimes range from those that affect individuals to crimes that affect society such as pedophilia and hate crimes. Greater attention is to be paid to these specific crimes, and that legislation should be attentive to the incisive resolution of these problems in the new information age.
