Resumo: This dissertation has as objective mensurar the doctors' scientific production in communication in higher education Institutions in Brazil, among the years of 1990 and 2000. To accomplish such intent, we left of the doctors' rising formed in Programs of Masters degree in Communication, Sciences of the Information and Multimeios, with purpose of analyzing the production and the professional activity of those during the formation and in the posterior period to the titulação. As access instrument to the those doctors' professional curricula, we used the Plataforma Curricular Lattes (CV-Lattes), of the National Council of Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), foundation linked to the Ministry of the Science and Technology (MCT), for the support to the Brazilian research. Obtaining the characteristics of the theses of the doctorates; the nature of the main professional activities; the dynamics of the cientist's formation; the disclosed characteristics of the knowledge in communication and pondered them of scientific and academic production of the granting a doctorate and of the doctor in Communication.

Para realizar tal intento, partimos do levantamento dos doutores formados em Programas de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação, Ciências da Informação e Multimeios, com propósito de analisar a produção e a atividade profissional desses durante a formação e no período posterior à titulação. Como instrumento de acesso aos currículos profissionais desses doutores, utilizamos a Plataforma Curricular Lattes (CV-Lattes), do Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq), fundação vinculada ao Ministério da Ciência e Tecnologia (MCT), para o apoio à pesquisa brasileira.
