The pandemic, which affected all world social relations, not only changed the schedule of this course, but also became part of the present study object, which proposed to study how the institutional requesitions made to social workers were affected by the pandemic moment. In order to achieve the proposed objectives, the demands that social workers sent to the Orientation and Fiscalization Commission [Comissão de Orientação e Fiscalização] (COFI) of the Region Council of Social Service 7th Region [Conselho Regional de Serviço Social 7ª Região] (CRESS-RJ), through the Fiscalization Sector [Setor de Fiscalização] (SOFI) in the period from March to December of the year 2020. Meeting spontaneous demands is intended to carry out one of the overrinding functions of CRESS: orientation and fiscalization of the social workers professional exercise, based on the National Fiscalization Policy for Inspection of the CFESS-CRESS Set of 2007, the Law of Regulation of the Profession, the Code of Ethics and other norms emanated by the Federal Council of Social Service [Conselho Federal de Serviço Social] (CFESS). From the data collection of the assistance provided by fiscal agents and the critical-dialectical analysis carried out based on some of the main critical theorists of the Social Work profession, institutional requisitions were identified for social workers which have been present since the origins of the profession, even after the critical renovation of the profession that is already over 40 years old. Such requisitions appear with a new guise, but with an “old” discourse, that of humanization, especially in the area of health. The area of action of social workers most affected by the pandemic, according to our survey. At the same time, we received new requisitions or at least a new way of carrying out our activities, such as work in distance, remote work, teleservice, as we can nominate activities carried out at home office, online interviews (via video calls) and procedures performed only by virtual medias, with the intermediation of information technology means, the ICT’ s, widely spread in the work process today. In this work is not intended to present conclusive data on institutional requisitions to social workers, but make na approximation with this reality at this peculiar moment of pandemic and contribute to the expansion of the discussion of the debate.
