Resumo: | The present dissertation had as object of study "precariousness of work and the common mental disorders in nursing workers". The objectives were to verify the suspicion of common mental disorders in a sample of nursing workers with precarious employment; identify the association between common mental disorders and the characteristics of the sample and discuss the implications of common mental disorders for the health of workers and the organization of hospital work. Quantitative study with a cross-sectional design, of a descriptive type. Developed in a federal public hospital located in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Nursing professionals participated in the study according to the following inclusion criteria: temporary workers and who have worked in healthcare activities for 30 days. Data collection was performed using three instruments: sociodemographic and occupational characterization, health conditions and the Self Report Questionnaire (SRQ-20), prepared by the World Health Organization (WHO). The cutoff points: seven or more positive responses for men and eight or more for women. The results showed that in a population of 254 temporary workers who worked directly in assistance, the sample consisted of 80 professionals, predominantly female nurses, age group 35 to 44 years old, married and / or stable union, family income between 3 and 5 minimum wages, graduates, had only one job, working in shifts, working 30 hours a week at the institution. mental disorders (CMD) in the sample was 52.5%, with an association with gender and family income exposure variables (p <0.05). Frequent were “feeling nervous, tense or worried”, “sleeping badly” and “having frequent headaches”. It is concluded that due to the high frequency of suspicion of CMD in the sample and complaints of anxiety, somatization, decreased vital energy, preventive and therapeutic actions that minimize the possibility of severe mental disorders and the use of anxiolytics are required. Income is a relevant aspect in terms of health, because of low wages these professionals tend to accumulate more than one bond, providing greater wear and / or suffering. The association with sex, evidenced that because it is a mostly female category, it is necessary to consider the gender issue and the burden due to double and / or triple hours, in addition to the difficult reconciliation with domestic work and other social activities. There is a need to carry out studies on CMD in nursing in view of their incipience in this population and the need for organizational and therapeutic support with a view to the health and well-being of professionals. |

Submitted by Eduardo CB/B (duardoribeiro91@gmail.com) on 2023-11-09T17:27:02Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Dissertação - Gilvana Jessica de Oliveira Higa - 2021 - Completa.pdf: 2739565 bytes, checksum: 93090b6229bb4c81a6296393187a873d (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2023-11-09T17:27:02Z (GMT).
