Resumo: | The demand of aesthetics restorations has been considerable increased last years. The direct esthetic restorative materials and new kinds of light sources have been passing by innumerous structural modifications to obtain better optical and mechanical properties. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the color stability and sorption of resin composites light-cured by quartz-tungsten-halogen lamps and light-emitting diodes in different mediums of immersion. One hundred and twenty specimens using TPH Spectrum (Dentsply), Esthet-X (Dentsply) shade A2 were constructed by using a teflon and iron inoxidizable matrix light-cured by 03 distincts light sources (conventional halogen lamp light curing unit â QHL 75 Curing Lite, Dentsply; light emitting diode curing unit â BIOLUX Standart II, Bio-Art and light emitting diode curing unit â Smart Lite PS, Dentsply). All the specimens passed by procedures of finishing, polishing and initial weight and color measurements were done. After the color measurements done using a reflectance spectrophotometer the specimens were immersed for 07 days at 37o C in destiled water (destiled water group), coffee (coffee group), coke-cola (coke-cola group) and red wine (red wine group). Completed the immersion times the specimens were cleansed and final measurements of weigh and color were done. The percentage of sorption and the color stability were calculated and the values were submitted to statistic treatment (ANOVA and Bonferroni`s test with 5% of significance for color stability and Kruskal-Wallis`s test with 5% of significance for sorption). Based on the results of the study the authors concluded that existed difference of color stability clinically perceptible in composites light-cured by quartz-tungsten-halogen lamps and light-emitting diodes in different mediums of immersion. Red wine, coke-cola, coffee and destiled water, in order, showed the biggest values of discoloration. The specimens light-cured by BIOLUX Standart II unit showed lowest color stability than the others specimens. Esthet-X and TPH Spectrum showed high values of discoloration when they were immersed in red wine and coke-cola. TPH Spectrum showed more stable front of discolorations. To sorption experiment the authors concluded that there was no statistic difference. |

Submitted by Boris Flegr (boris@uerj.br) on 2021-01-07T15:04:31Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Dissertacao Mestrado Rodrigo Guimaraes.pdf: 1667377 bytes, checksum: b3a388debcf6b7cecc1bdf192dbf265f (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2021-01-07T15:04:31Z (GMT).
