This work aims at investigating the history of healthy children separated from their parents leprosy patients who were isolated in leper colonies compulsorily by order of the Brazilian state. Through qualitative research methodology based on the technique of oral history, seeks to understand this form of infringement of a generation that was hit by the political control of the disease in Brazil. Thus, we identify the circumstances of this separation and the destiny that each of the respondents and examine the relationships between the social trajectory of these subjects and health policy determined by the Brazilian Public Health, in the light of social and moral consequences caused by this determination prophylactic. We conclude that one of the major impacts of the segregation and removal of these individuals was the deepening of the social stigma that had as main effects, the breaking of the bond with the family and the social networks, and restricting the opportunities for study and work, shaping a way of discrimination which translates in the history of life of individuals affected by the disease and their families.
