This work aims to identify the daily challenges faced by internationalist activists to build solidarity with Mexico from Barcelona. I call indignant solidarity the moment of internationalist relations with Mexico, which emerge in 2011 and have as a frame the actions of the Movement for Peace and Dignity (2011), in support of # YoSoy132 (2012), and of Ayotzinapa (2014), signaling an inflection with the moment of Zapatista solidarity. From interviews with activists in Barcelona, a key city in solidarity with Mexico since the times of Zapatismo, three major challenges have been mapped out, which compose a portrait of contemporary solidarity, namely: i) the geographical connections, such as the bridges between the different political imaginaries, hearts and contexts; ii) time, that is, the ability to respond to the urgency of the context and to reconcile it with work, the dynamics of life and with so many other important struggles; iii) the participation / link between individual and collective, which refers to the arrangements between individual needs and collective projects. In dialogue with the Sociology of Social Movements, inspired by Alain Touraine and with the contributions of Kathya Araujo and Danilo Martucelli, to the Sociology of Individualization, the approach proposed here places the activist individual at the center of the analysis. Using the analytical operator of the evidence, I discuss contemporary solidarity from the unique ways in which activists face the challenges that are imposed on militancy. The tests are challenges of a structural and daily character, put to all the individuals, although they face them differently. Such an approach is part of a set of efforts that attempt to account for the emergence of the individual as a result of the individualization process and the fact that they are active producers of societies. The choice of this theoretical-methodological approach makes it possible to connect activists and activism with societal transformations, be they technological, labor or other.
