The young first time and connected voter is the theme of this research. Assuming as a coverage the State of Rio de Janeiro and the 2018 elections for Executive and Legislative functions, we analyzed a group of young people from the Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro that have voted for their first time. Besides, they have active profiles in online social media. The reports presented by these young people are the central element of this analysis, in order to understand their behaviors and attitudes towards the universe of politics, and the influence of social networks in this process. Thus, we investigate how these young people expressed themselves, how they feel about their first vote, and which steps were taken in their journey, in a context marked by the multiplicity of sources of information in the diffusion of New Information and Communication Technologies (TICs). A scenario in which coexistence, conflict and the symbolic dispute between narratives raise awareness, since only one click can disseminate information on a global scale. A world in which it is common for citizens like them being part of the digital culture connected since childhood, although this is an unequal scenario.
