Resumo: This study aims, through the projection of a specific work, my own work, to think the contemporary art processes. This thesis is not a classic dissertation where to directly disscuss about relevant social science issues. Particularly, using as research object the proposed work, we present a guideline related to the concept of process, production and viability of an artwork, in addition to disclose and to document the opera. The reader will find the projection process of an ice cube installation sized 10m by 10m by 10m, 1000m3, at Tiradentes Square in Rio de Janeiro. A work that have to considerate the material which it is held with, the place where it will be installed, how it has to be done and the way to materialized it. On the other hand, is a work of substancial size, installed in public spaces and for all audiences. In this way it have to offer some counterparts to fullfill the competent authorities interests about the effectiveness of the proposal. It is a costly work that needs to be fund it. An ephemeral work with relevant visibility that wants to generate an aesthetic experience to the public at the same time that reflects a humankind reality: water as a natural limited resource. An idea and the way to materialize it. An operaEste trabalho se propõe, através da concepção de um obra específica, uma obra minha, pensar os processos artísticos contemporâneos. Embora esta dissertação não seja uma clássica dissertação onde se abordam diretamente assuntos pertinentes às ciências sociais, usando como objeto de pesquisa a Obra proposta, traçamos um percurso onde se abordam questões relativas ao processo de conceituação, produção e viabilização de uma obra, além de sua divulgação e documentação. No presente documento o leitor encontrará o processo de criação da Obra, que consiste na instalação de um cubo de gelo de 10m por 10m por 10m, 1000m3, na Praça Tiradentes, no Rio de Janeiro. Uma Obra que precisa considerar o material com que é realizada, o lugar onde será instalada, como será realizada tecnicamente e qual será o processo para se concretizar. Por outro lado, é uma Obra de porte significativo, instalada no espaço público e para todos os públicos, desta forma, deve ser apresentada uma série de contrapartidas à Cidade que desperte interesse na efetivação da proposta. É uma Obra onerosa que necessita de um patrocinador para financiá-la. Uma Obra efêmera, de importante visibilidade, que pretende gerar uma experiência estética ao espectador ao mesmo tempo que busca destacar uma realidade que nos afeta a todos, em todos os aspetos da nossa vida: água como recurso natural limitado.
